The top most violent cities the world

Despite the current instability in many parts of Africa, most African cities are considered less violent compared with their counterparts in the Latin America and North america.
The terrorist group, Boko Haram, is causing mayhem and destroying innocent lives in northern Nigeria, no Nigeria city made the first 50 on the list.
South Africa is the only African country that made the first 50 on list of the most violent cities in the world in a report published by Business Insider.  Many will expect to find Lagos, Johannesburg and Cairo in the list, however, the three Africa cities that made the list were: Cape Town, Durban and Nelson Mandela Bay.
The ranking was based on the rate of homicides per 100,000 of the population. On the top of the list is San Pedro Sula, Honoduras. Cape Town being the 20th (1st in Africa) on the list, is estimated to have about 50.9 homicides per 100,000 residents.
